Player Tagging

Player Tagging

In presenting our general concept and our analysis products, we have repeatedly emphasised that Die Ligen places great emphasis on tactical context, complex relationships and analysable match situations. You won’t find any marked scenes that last 1-2 seconds and are supposed to represent touches of a player, for example. It is not without reason that we focus completely on two subject areas:

  • Team-tactical analysis
  • Team-tactical player analysis

The term “team-tactical player analysis” already reveals the way of thinking. Our understanding of football sees the performance of a single player as a single component of team performance. It is said that a player’s performance is always dependent on the team’s behaviour, the team’s philosophy, the way the game is played and its implementation. This sequence leads to a construct where all tagged scenes of a player are displayed within a team context.

We currently have a goalkeeper analysis in our portfolio called Analysis Rough Cut GOALKEEPER. But we are already working on a solution for field players and want to present it in the next months.

Our analysis system, which on the one hand influences all product content but has also shaped the entire analysis methodology, is always regarded as the technical basis and qualitative unique selling proposition. On the basis of this meritorical basis, the tagging system was also designed and worked out down to the last detail.

Our team of trained analysts combines theoretical knowledge with practical implementation skills, which guarantees high quality with uniformly structured game scenes, data and evaluations.

Explanation of the analysis structure:
  • Goalkeeper behaviour in the defensive phase – in relation to the opponent’s offensive structure
  • Goalkeeper behaviour during the offensive – with and without the ball
  • Behaviour at set-piece situations
  • Insights into goalkeeper-specific techniques
  • Conducting and body language as important supplementary elements
